I made a cake. That’s just about the most exciting thing that’s happened here at the Staples’ lately. Ever since mid summer, I’ve been having health problems and dealing with not feeling well, doctor appointments, tests, etc takes an awful lot of time and energy. I’ve been a bad blogger! I promise to be a better blogger – once I get back on my feet and feel 100%.
OK, so back to my cake. My mom and sister were visiting and I insisted we bake a cake. I had never made a layer cake before and it just felt like it was time to do it. I don’t bake a whole lot, but when I do, it’s from this book. It’s never failed me and the Pie Crust, Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies and now the Yellow Layer Cake and Rich Chocolate Cream Frosting are absolute favorite recipes of mine. The cake is gone now and I wish I had 100 more. So good.
