I made this sweet ring for a lovely customer and I just loved it, so it’s made its way to my shop!

It made me want to really get going on some more gold pieces. It’s really fun to work with and I just adore yellow gold. And, I would really, really like to start on some rose gold inventory. I started thinking about fall and winter pieces with deep and colorful stones I’ve been hoarding. And then, of course, today the price of gold hit a historic high. I’ve always had impeccable timing.

I updated my shop yesterday with a few new goodies. I would have posted the update here yesterday, but oh boy, time got away from me and my eyes were going bonkers staring at a computer screen for WAY too long yesterday. So, I’ve recovered a bit and ready to share! Hope you enjoy!

Well, hello there. I’ve been quiet on my end. I hear that it’s spring time. That it’s even HOT in some places. It’s like December here. We just can’t quite get to warm and sunny weather. It’s really hard on my mood. I’m just craving sunshine and all the fun that goes along with summer and warm weather. OK, enough of that! How about some new jewels?! New Work & New Books

It’s been a very typical spring around here lately. Here’s how it goes…I get too excited that the sun might make an appearance so I start planting my vegetable garden and thinking I might be able to sit out on the deck in the sun and start enjoying the changing weather…and then it rains and rains and rains some more. And, never gets above 50. Just like every other day in any other month in Seattle. Groundhogs Day. 50 and rainy every day of the year. I haven’t seen the sun for more than a couple minutes since I was in Mexico. Yes, I am complaining, but it’s just not right not having the sun shine in your life!

So, indoors it is. But, it leaves me time to dive into the new jewelry technique books I just got. I’ve thumbed through these before and decided it was time to have copies of my own. Sooooo happy I finally did it! Here’s what I got:

I have a few new goodies to share with you, as I mentioned earlier today. So, so happy with the cushion cut rings – even if they were insanely time consuming…and painful. It was worth it! I organized my sketchbook a few weeks ago and just have a ton of other designs to get to. I found some that I forgot about and I’m itching to get working on them! I’m also itching to start working on my garden and clean every nook and cranny of my house. It must be spring : ).

I have new rings to share with you…including my first 2 all 14k gold rings. I’m pretty excited! Making this last batch of rings has brought up even more ideas and designs in my head and I’m excited to find some time for more new designs. When I’m feeling creative, I just have to go for it. I never know how long it will last or when it may return. So, I’ve learned to just do what it tells me. Most importantly, I’ve learned not to worry about my creativity never returning. It will.
