Fall Weekend

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! We spent the weekend outside walking and exploring. Everywhere from Seward Park here in Seattle to Bellingham to the Skagit Valley farm country. On Saturday I couldn’t believe how early it was getting dark. Then, on Sunday with day light savings upon us, even darker. Oh, these short days are hard to handle…how is it November already?! But, it was a gorgeous weekend. The beautiful fall colors and that wintery light. Oh, so pretty.

And, a BIG thank you for the fabulous response to my Holiday Early Bird Sale. It was so much fun and I’m excited to share more goodies soon! Keep an eye out.

This is my last August Break post! How fast did this month go? Well, I will leave you with a few of my first shots with my new camera. Really looking forward to learning and playing more! Pretty great so far.

I still have a month or so to go in my splint, but I’ve still been able to get some things done in my studio, so I hope to be able to work on some new designs soon. Honestly, its been a little hard to get the creative juices flowing because this whole ordeal has gotten me kinda down. Jeweler with broken hand = total bummer. But, as I get more comfortable and stronger, I hope my muse will return! You’ll be the first to know!

I meant to add these to my shop a while back. I’ve been really into bands lately. Mixing and matching…so fun!

But, alas, I’ve been moving awfully slow with this broken hand of mine and I think I will continue to hoard them a few more weeks until I’m feeling better and stronger. They shall make an appearance in the shop soon!

Hand

I had a bit of a spill this morning while on a run. I tripped and fell face first onto the sidewalk. Along with a beat up chin, shoulder, knee and arms, my poor jewelry-making hands got the worst of it. Thankfully, my right hand just has a big hole in it and still pretty useful (like typing!). My left hand however, took the biggest blow and I broke a bone. So. Not. Cool. I mean no one wants a broken hand, but I have jewelry to make! So sad! I’ll share more soon…

Camping

We went camping this weekend in Moran State Park on Orcas Island. It’s the first time hubby and I have camped for YEARS. I love the idea of camping. However, there are 2 things that come with camping that I don’t deal with very well. Being cold and being dirty. I was very much both of those things this weekend. But, Moran State Park is absolutely stunning, the hiking is amazing and we had such a good time. So all that made up for it and we might even do it again ; ).
