New Rings for You

I have new rings to share with you…including my first 2 all 14k gold rings. I’m pretty excited! Making this last batch of rings has brought up even more ideas and designs in my head and I’m excited to find some time for more new designs. When I’m feeling creative, I just have to go for it. I never know how long it will last or when it may return. So, I’ve learned to just do what it tells me. Most importantly, I’ve learned not to worry about my creativity never returning. It will. In it’s own time. And never conveniently : ). Here are the new goodies:

Excuses, excuses

Oh, dear. I have been a bad, bad blogger. These last couple weeks have been super busy in the studio. I haven’t had much time and blogging seems like one of those things that always gets pushed to the side when things get crazy. I certainly am not complaining – make hay when the sun shines, right? I haven’t heard that saying in years, but for some reason, I’ve heard it 3 times this week. Isn’t it funny how you won’t hear a saying, someone’s name, a song, etc…for what seems like a thousand years, and all of the sudden you hear 10 times in a week? You know what I mean. It’s weird.

Besides filling orders and making made to order items, I did manage to make a couple new things. I finally learned how to tube set, which is a basic bezel setting made from tubing for faceted stones. Exciting, right? : ) It doesn’t sound like it, but it’s exciting to me! Anytime I can learn something new to incorporate into my designs, I’m pretty happy. I just finished a marathon of listing new items in my shop. Oh, it takes so long! I’ve been feeling very festive this week. Can you tell? So many beautiful jewel tones and party earrings! The season has gotten to me already. I even painted my fingernails red. And mulled some cider. Fa-la-la-la-la!

Feeling Fall

I am feeling lucky. Lucky that this fall here in Seattle has been quite beautiful so far. The sun has been shining for DAYS! I can actually see my long, long shadows. The yellow, orange and red leaves look so much prettier with sun shining on them and blue sky behind them. It’s making the transition to sweaters and socks (I hate socks) more bearable.

I finished up all of these pretty things today. I have yet to list the last 3. I will do that tomorrow. I promise. Until then…E

Green Moonstone Ring in Sterling Silver
A lovely, ethereal stone – sort of frosty, sort of icy, all pretty.

Garnet Studs in Sterling Silver
Simple and basic, but that color and that cut! – too pretty not to put in your ear.

Double Pear Hoops
A lovely silhouette. And on, they are stunning. Shiny, big, bold, yet sleek and modern.

Little Bits

Just a couple new little bits to share. Some sweet rings…with rugged edges (my new favorite thing) and some falling leaves earrings with Citrine – just in time for fall. These will be in my shop in no time flat!

I can’t believe it’s the weekend already! Fall is a really great time in the studio for me. Time just flies and that is such a good feeling. I spend the day dreaming, working, creating, and the next thing I know I’m holding a big handful of sparkly new jewelry waiting for their new home…A quick look at the clock and it’s time to head back up to tend to life and pour a glass of wine. Now that’s a good day!

End of Summer + Bar Bracelets

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great long labor day weekend (here in the US). It’s definitely feeling like the end of summer here in Seattle. It’s been a pretty gloomy summer and I’m just not ready for even more rain and gray. There are so many wonderful things about Seattle. It’s a wonderful city in so many ways. The food, the water, the mountains, the green, the music. It’s wonderful in ways that I’m sure I take advantage of. But, yes, it’s true what they say about the weather. I think being a weather person here would be such an easy job. Show up to work and say it’s going to be 55 and cloudy with a chance of rain and you would be right 90% of the time all year round. Sometimes it feels a little like groundhog’s day. But, enough complaining! How about some jewels? I thought I’d share a couple of bar bracelets I’ve been working on. They are so cute and easy to wear. Wear them alone, or layer them up…

I’ve been busy with production work and haven’t had much time for new designs, but I had this sweet little Watermelon Tourmaline slice that I was dying to set, make a necklace out of and list today. I guess I got too excited….I broke the stone while I was setting it and I’m still sad : ( Wouldn’t it have been cute??!!
